Britney Spears’ once healthy relationship with Jason Trawick is turning toxic! The distraught pop princess called her ex-husband Kevin Federline on Dec. 15 to tearfully break distressing news, a family insider tells Star. “She had to cancel picking up their sons, Preston and Jayden, because Jason was ‘selfishly’ pushing her hard for some alone time!”

And though the couple have been fighting about almost everything lately, “Feeling like jason forced Brit to give up a night with her boys was the last straw,” says the Insider.

So she made the heart wrenching decision to tell Jason that their wedding won’t happen! “She can’t take it anymore,” explains the insider. “Britney is tired of trying to please Jason. She’s over is bossiness.”

Although she was the one to call of their marriage, it was Britney who had always insisted on walking down the aisle, says a source. “She wanted to elope to Vegas – Jason said no. She wanted a wedding in Australia – He said no. She wanted to go to L.A’s City Hall – He said no. Jason told her to stop rushing it, that he wanted to wait at least a year.”

But the couple may not even make it to 2010. With the wedding now on hold, Britney and Jason’s fights are raging on – and both are fed up with the tension.” Being around two young children and their fragile mom has proven to be more then Jason bargained for,” says the source, “He loves the boys, but he’s having second thoughts about playing dad all the time – and it’s leading to even more problems.”

And while Britney, 28, thrived while on the road performing, she’s resisting Jason’s plans to get her right back to work. “While he wants Brit to start immediately on her next projects, she complains she’s exhausted and just wants some downtime with her kids,” says the insider.

And even Jason’s biggest allies, Britney’s parents, Jamie And Lynne Spears, are causing friction between the couple. Jason wanted her to be more involved in the case to remove her dad as her conservator,” dishes the insider. “He feels she was being too passive in proving that she can be independent.”

Jason, 38, has also made it clear that he doesn’t like staying in Britney’s Calabasas, Calif., home. “He’s been telling friends that overnights there all the time make him feel as if it’s all about his fiancee’s needs and never what he wants,” says the insider. Although Britney had been accommodating Jason with mini Getaway’s – such as a Dec. 12 visit to the Mondrian Los Angeles On Sunset Boulevard – “I wouldn’t be surprised if those two eventually split up,” says another insider. “Jason didn’t sign up for all her drama and Brit’s not coping well with his either!
