Keri Hilson has established herself as an accomplished singer and recording artist; however, before she could use her talents to purse her own solo endeavors, the R&B singer wrote hit tracks for many big name artists including the pop princess herself, Britney Spears. So was it tough working with one of the biggest and most followed celebrities in the world? “That wasn’t my experience,” Keri tells OK! exclusively. “She wasn’t tough to write for at all.” “But we knew before we went in that she did not want it to be biographical,” she continues on her experience with Brit. “She definitely wanted to escape her reality so we knew how to approach it.” Keri’s songwriting was responsible for many chart-topping hit singles including Britney’s “Gimme More.” The songwriter turned R&B crooner says Britney wasn’t part of the writing process, but she is “a very sweet girl.” “She works very hard and she really knows her role very very very well and I think she is a visual artist,” Keri adds. “The moment she hears a song she is imagining the video and imagining herself onstage which was amazing to me, which I think I’ve seen that very rarely.” |

Reality TV star HEIDI MONTAG is so intent on becoming the next BRITNEY SPEARS she almost bankrupted herself producing her debut album. The Hills personality is desperate to make it as a pop star, and recently underwent a staggering 10 operations to enhance her image, including breast augmentation, liposuction and work on her butt. Montag insists she put herself through the pain of cosmetic surgery to give her a chance of competing against the likes of the Toxic hitmaker. She tells People magazine, “My ultimate dream is to be a pop star. I’m competing against the Britney Spearses of the world - and when she was in her prime, it was her sex appeal that sold.” Heidi Montag’s debut album may have set a record — just not a good one. In its first week of release, The Hills star’s album, Superficial, has sold less than 1,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan. In fact, industry sources tell UsMagazine.com that the album has sold only 658 downloads to date. She told EW, “I put every dollar I have into this. I’ve spent over $1 million, almost $2 million, on this album. It’s cost as much or more than a Britney Spears album because I wanted it to be that quality… The songs will make an impact in pop history.” Those songs have collectively sold 6,000 downloads, Nielsen SoundScan also reports. |

Up & coming electro-pop writer/producer/artist Jon Asher has opened up a little about Britney Spears’ upcoming seventh studio album. The 21-year-old was recently contacted by Spears and her management and asked to submit material for the highly-anticipated project, which is due out sometime later this year. For now, I’ve only submitted songs for the next album. I’m trying to develop an exciting new sound for her. Give Britney more of an “Epic” feel. And how exactly does Jon define “Epic”? Epic Pop is a genre that I am pioneering at the moment. Music that has meaning. It’s not your everyday pop love bug sound. Its upbeat rhythms and sounds with meaningful emotional lyrics that people can feel. Something that truly moves you. Jon also happens to be a huge Britney fan, so which of the singers albums are his favorite? I’m caught between Blackout and In the Zone. “Unusual You” from the Circus album and “Break the Ice” from her Blackout album [are my favorite Britney songs] OMG, yes please! Based solely on his favorite songs. |

Britney Spears or Lady Gaga? – “You can’t compare Britney with Lady gaga.” – Why? – “You are putting Lady gaga on the same level as Britney Spears? I really can’t believe it, lady gaga is good but she’s a new artist, Britney Spears is a legend. They’re two different artists, two forms of entertainment, But very different, It’s like compare Dali with Picasso. Love ya lots Lily. |

![]() Ke$ha had the distinct pleasure of appearing on Britney’s Circus song “Lace and Leather.” And while she never got the chance to meet the pop star, she said the project came at just the right time. “And for Britney Spears, I just did backgrounds for her ’cause I was so broke. I needed to pay my rent,” she said. “I got a few bucks. No, [I didn't meet her]. I just did backups for her.” |

Britney Spears has made a career out of crawling around onstage and dancing through her videos in barely there outfits. But when it comes to really nailing down the one moment that Britney was at her most stylish, designer Christian Siriano says it’s all about her understated look when she performed onstage with Madonna in 2008. “My favorite Britney moment was when she was kind of having this tiny bit of a comeback, right at the beginning,” he told MTV News. “And it was when she wore the beautiful black pants and that white blouse onstage with Madonna. I thought that was so chic and so not her, so that’s why I really liked it.” Britney also dazzled Siriano’s senses at the 2008 VMAs. “And then obviously when she won all of her music awards recently in that sequin dress,” he recalled. “And she looked really chic, but I liked it. I think it worked.” She also could do no wrong at the 2001 VMAs. “She did wear a black Dolce and Gabbana minidress, like, years and years ago,” he remembered. “That was good. That was really good. Even though it was crazy, that was good.” Siriano said he would love to tackle the challenge of designing a little something for the pop star. He’s already got Lady Gaga on his résumé, so why not? “I always say, ‘Britney, I would love to do it,’ ” he said. “I would love to make something fabulous for her because fashion-wise, it’s very interesting. She’s one of the biggest pop icons but … it’s never about clothes ever. It’s so weird, because every other of these pop divas it’s so much about clothing and fashion, and it’s not with Britney. It’s very strange.” But, Siriano applauded her down-to-earth, girl-next-door sense of style. “On her down days, she’s just a normal girl and in her cutout jeans and Uggs and cutoff T-shirt,” he said. “And I think it’s kind of cool that it’s so real.” |

![]() Britney Spears has come a long way, but Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s 76-year-old widow, thinks the pop star deserves more respect. “I think that the world was not fair to her, and they’re just using her and not dignifying her,” she told Usmagazine.com at the ThreeAsFour Homage to Yoko Ono on Thursday in NYC. Up until last year, headlines bearing Spears’ name reported on her bizarre psychotic behaviors, drug use, and a tumultuous custody battle with ex Kevin Federline over her two sons, Sean Preston, 4, and Jayden James, 3. Now, Spears, 27, is hard at work promoting her sixth album, Circus, on a sold-out international tour. “I think she’s a survivor and she’s doing very well,” Ono told Us. |
