OK, this doesn’t include her European leg or most of her OZ leg, so I don’t really see why they published this list if they were missing info but mkay.

Britney #7
After a few tumultuous years that found Spears in the tabloid more often than the charts, Britney redeemed herself with a pair of chart-topping singles — “Womanizer” and “Circus” — from her 2008 comeback album. A successful world tour brought her back to center stage, but the real proof of her rejuvenation was the one-off single “3,” which debuted atop the Hot 100 chart in October, making Spears the first artist to perform the feat in three years.

1. Britney Spears
You can’t deny it, Britney has dominated the decade. Her music endures on MTV and radio and her often erratic and always interesting personal life has made for endless tabloid fodder. Her musical output between 2000-2008 was astounding. She dropped a huge ‘Oops!’ at the dawn of the decade and followed that with ‘Britney’ a year later. In 2003, she delivered what we think is one of the best pop songs of the decade, ‘Toxic’ (complete with an insanely sexy music video). Two more albums followed, with the latest dropping last year. True, it’s impossible to ignore her personal woes (marriages, divorces, drinking, weird boyfriends, shaved heads, rehab …), but in the end this was all about a former Mouseketeer developing into the world’s biggest star.

The singer drops to 5th after a 4-year stay atops Yahoo!’s list of most searched people and events.
2005. 2006. 2007. 2008. After a four-year Britney Spears reign, the King of Pop knocked the pop princess off her Search perch—down into the fifth slot for 2009.
The lower ranking reflects her lower (but calmer) profile. In the last couple of years, the singing sensation has been known as much for her antics—her shaved head, breakups, and boyfriends—as for her music.
But this year the comeback kid got serious—and showed her show-biz stuff. The “Circus” tour has gone global, and breakout hits from the album are topping the charts. The blond bombshell can console herself knowing that now that she’s got her mojo back, No. 5 is really the new No. 1

In the Zone
Artist: Britney Spears
Song: Toxic
Mixing dance, house, crunk, Diwali beats and Neptunes-style hip-hop with a heap of campy sexuality and controversy, 2003′s In the Zone is a primer on the sound of pop in the ’00s. The lineup of producers is a who’s-who of hit-makers: Bloodshy & Avant, R. Kelly, P. Diddy, Tricky, Moby, Frou Frou’s Guy Sisgworth and The Matrix. Still trying to break free of her teen-pop past, Spears served as the ideal vehicle for a futuristic sound. The album features some of her best singles, including the critically embraced dance hit “Toxic” and the wrenching confessional ballad “Everytime.” While the decade’s history of celebrity obsession, paparazzi voyeurism and conflicted constructions of female sexuality and motherhood are written on Spears’ body, the decade’s history of impeccably crafted pop is written on her body of work. — Amy Schriefer

BRITNEY SPEARS comeback is complete – she has topped a new poll to find the best celebrity mum.
The Toxic superstar lost custody of her two sons after her public meltdown in 2008, but gained shared custody with ex Kevin Federline after she proved to the courts she had cleaned up her act.
And the singer’s fans have obviously noticed Spears’ efforts – she received a mammoth 74 per cent share of the vote in a new poll by U.K. company Park Christmas Saving to find the best mother in showbusiness.
Following in second place is Spears’ childhood rival, Christina Aguilera, who pulled in 12 per cent of the votes, while mother-of-six Angelina Jolie was in third.
Late British reality TV star Jade Goody and mum-of-one Katie Holmes were awarded the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
Other famous matriarchs in the top ten include Madonna, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Nicole Richie and Victoria Beckham.

She’s come such a long way since last year. God, I’m so proud of her.
